Early Years Christmas Spectacular

8th and 9th December 2021

Christmas will soon be upon us and the children in Early Years have started learning the songs for their Christmas performance. We have included some of the songs and lyrics here to help your child practice them at home.

Some children also have a spoken part which they will have been given to bring home. If you could help your child learn these words at home, it would be much appreciated as it is not very long until our performance.

More information regarding tickets will be sent home later this week.

What does my child need to wear?

The Christmas Spectacular will take place outside - therefore, children need to wear their school uniform but they need to be well wrapped up with a warm winter coat, hat and gloves. You may put your child an extra jumper on that they can then keep on their peg for the remainder of the day. Please remember to clearly label all items with your child's name.

Children will be provided with all the props they need on the day.

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

You know Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen

Comet and Cupid and Donner and Blitzen,

But do you recall, the most famous reindeer of all.

Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer,

Had a very shiny nose.

And if you ever saw it, you would even say it glows.

All of the other reindeer, used to laugh and call him names.

They never let poor Rudolph, join in any reindeer games.

Then one foggy Christmas Eve, Santa came to say.

Rudolph with your nose so bright, won’t you guide my sleigh tonight.

Then how the reindeer loved him, as they shouted out with glee.

Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer, you'll go down in history!

It Was On A Starry Night

We will be singing the first verse and two choruses.

It was on a starry night

When the hills were bright

Earth lay sleeping, sleeping calm and still

And in a cattle shed, in a manger bed

A boy was born, King of all the world.

And all the angels sang for him

The bells of heaven rang for him.

For a boy was born

King of all the world.

And all the angels sang for him

The bells of heaven rang for him.

For a boy was born

King of all the world.

Jingle Bells

We will be singing one verse and the chorus.

Dashing through the snow

On a one horse open sleigh

Over the fields we go

Laughing all the way

Bells on bobtail ring

Making spirits bright

Oh what fun to ride and sing, a sleighing song tonight…HEY!

Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way,

Oh what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh - HEY!

Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way,

Oh what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh

We Wish You A Merry Christmas

We wish you a merry Christmas,

We wish you a merry Christmas,

We wish you a merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Glad tidings we bring to you and your kin. We wish you a merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
