Barnburgh Primary School

Learning to shine together

We have been overwhelmed with offers of support from parents wishing to join the PTA. However, just at the present time, we are unable to recruit any other members simply due to meeting restrictions. We will update the app as soon as we are in position to do so.

What The PTA Does

We are passionate about our school and helping the children be the best they can be. Over the years we have raised money to help the school in numerous ways.

We are always looking for new fundraising ideas and opportunities, but we usually raise money through fun events and initiatives:

  • Summer Fayre
  • Christmas Fayre
  • Bake Sales
  • Christmas Cards
  • Raffles
  • and lots more...

If you have any other ideas, please do let us know.

Christmas Card Project
Many of you will have received a wonderful Christmas Card design and order form in the last few days as part of our festive project.  We have chosen a company that offers online ordering to make the process as simple and safe for all involved.  Each order form must be unique so please do not photocopy the form for other members of your family, should you need it you can get extra copies from your child’s teacher.
Children Currently Attending School
For children currently in school we need you to place your order online using your unique reference code and return the form to one of the plastic tubs at school by this Friday (October 9th) at the latest.  The locations of the boxes are as follows:
- Nursery / Reception - next to the fence near the entry to the foundation area.
- Year 1 and 2 - next to the fence outside the classrooms.
- Year 3 and 4 - outside main reception at the entrance to school (on top of the British Heart Foundation bin) - please don’t make a special trip, this is for families with a sibling still attending school.
- Year 5 and 6 - In the bike shed on the corner between the two classrooms.

Years 3 and 4
Sadly some of our pupils are isolating at present, but we hope that we have made it possible for all children to participate in this project by taking the following steps. Year 4 have completed their artwork in school and we have arranged for this to be delivered to pupils at home. For Year 4 children please place your order online and, unless you have a sibling attending school, return the form to school on October 19th when your child returns. A tub will be available in the playground for your use.

Year 3 pupils had to leave before completing their artwork, but if you would like to join in from home you can request an order form using this link:

We are fortunate to have been able to arrange a special collection for Year 3 and 4 pupils when they return to school. We were concerned that if we waited until they all came back they would need to create the card on the Monday, take it home that day, order that night and then bring it back the following day.  This left literally no room for late orders / forgotten forms etc. To alleviate this pressure we thought we’d give parents the option to make the card at home so that they only need to return it when the children are back at school.  If you prefer your child to make the card at school this is no problem, but for those who would like to do it as a home project this can be done in your own time and your order placed with less urgency.

At the moment things are changing so much that we are constantly having to reassess what we are doing to try to include as many pupils as possible.  Please monitor this page for any updates.

As a quick reminder here is what we need from everyone for this project to be a success:

All children in school - Deadline for artwork and forms Friday October 9th
Deadline for Year 3 and 4 - Monday October 19th
Year 3 - please complete the online form above to indicate whether you would like to make your card at home.
Thank you all for your continued support throughout these every challenging times.
