SPORTS DAYS 2021

Key Stage 1 and 2 Information:

Sports Days will take place w/b Monday 28th June.

Monday 28th June - Year 1/2

Thursday 1st July - Year 3/4

Friday 2nd July - Year 5/6

During the mornings and early afternoon, children will take part in competitive games and field events in their Key Stages. Points will be collected and scores awarded so that the afternoon’s events begin with an existing score to provide a further element of competition. All sports days will be weather permitting.

Parents and carers are invited into school to celebrate the rest of our sports events from 1:45pm-2:45pm, where we will be competing in our House teams against other teams in our class. Children will compete in track events in the style of an athletics competition. As in previous years, we ask that children wear a coloured t-shirt in the same colour as their house team (as indicated below) so that the teams can clearly be seen. Along with this coloured t-shirt, children should also wear their PE kit of black shorts and trainers. The children are welcome to wear ribbons of the same team colour in their hair to match their t-shirt. Please send your child to school in these clothes as they will be taking part in sports activities for most of the day.

Einstein: RED                Hawking: GREEN                Mandela: YELLOW                Teresa: BLUE

Early Years Information:

This will take place on Wednesday 30th June. Children will take part in a range of sports activities throughout the morning. Children will come to school dressed in a PE kit at the usual school time, this includes a white t-shirt with black shorts and trainers/pumps. Points will be collected and scores awarded during the first part of the morning so that the racing part of the morning begins with an existing score to provide a further element of competition. All sports days will be weather permitting.

Parents and carers are invited into school to celebrate part of our sports events from 11:00am-11:30am.

COVID SAFETY MEASURES (for ALL Sports Days)

The following safety measures have been put in place in order to minimise the risk of the covid virus spreading. The following measures form part of our risk assessment for this event which can be found on our school website or can be provided in paper form at your request. We ask that all visitors adhere to these measures. The school reserves the right to ask any visitor who does not adhere to the following requests to leave our school site:

  • No more than 2 adults per family may attend each sports event.
  • Adults may stand, socially distanced from others, in the designated area. A member of staff will direct you to this area.
  • If adults wish to sit down during the event, they are asked to bring their own chair.
  • Adults must wear a facemask throughout the event. Any adults who have an exemption for 0.
  • this, must wear the appropriate lanyard.
  • Adults must use the hand gel which will be provided on entry to our school site.
  • There will be no access to any facilities in school, including toilets, during the event.
  • If pre-school children are brought to the event, we request that they are supervised at all times and do not mix with children or adults from other households.
  • On no account must any adult attending the event cross the designated boundaries to speak to a school child or to pass anything over to a school child. There will be plenty of staff available to support with communication if required.
  • If any adult feels unwell or displays any of the covid symptoms on the day of the event, we ask them not to attend.
  • We urge all adults to take a lateral flow test on the morning of the event to further reduce the risk of the covid virus being brought in to our school.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued support and cooperation with the measures we are having to put in place.

Please be aware that, our sports day events will be cancelled if the weather conditions make our track unsafe for the children to compete on. You will be informed of this via the school app on the day of the event.

Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to hopefully celebrating these events with you and your children.
