Vertical Jump
Rules:
- The athlete stands with their back, head and heels touching the wall.
- Both arms should be stretched upwards over their head.
- Measure where they can reach to and write this on the recording sheet.
- The athlete should then stand sideways to the wall with their jumping arm closest to the wall.
- They should jump from a standing position and touch the wall as high as they can.
- Measure where they can reach by jumping and write this in the next box on the recording sheet.
10 x 10m Shuttle Run
Rules:
- The athlete must stand behind a starting line.
- They must have a 10m space to run in (or 5m and run 20 times).
- They need to be timed.
- Start the timer as they start to run.
- Run the 10m distance 10 times and then stop the timer.
- Record the time taken on the recording sheet.
Chest Push
Rules:
- The athlete should hold the ball in both hands to their chest with their hands turned out.
- They should stand on a starting spot/line.
- The athlete should throw/push the ball out from their chest.
- The distance from where the athlete started to where the ball first landed/bounced needs to be measured and recorded on the recording sheet.
Speed Bounce
Rules:
- Speed Bounce is a two-footed jump.
- The athlete must take off and land on both feet.
- The athlete should stand on one side of the wedge.
- Start the timer and stop at 20 seconds.
- Count how many times the athlete jumps over the wedge in 20 seconds and record this on the recording sheet.
Standing Long Jump
Rules:
- The athlete must start with both feet behind a starting line.
- They should bend their knees into a crouch and swing their arms to get the best technique for jumping.
- From their standing position, the athlete should jump as far as they can making sure they land on both feet.
- Measurement should be taken from the starting line to the back on the closest heel on landing.
- Record this on the recording sheet.
