Young Voices 2022
On Thursday 28th April, 29 children from across Year 5 and Year 6, made their way to the Utilita Arena in Sheffield to perform as part of the Young Voices choir. After months of rehearsing and rearranging of dates, the children were so excited to finally perform to their parents. The children left school in the afternoon, with Miss Appleyard, Miss Johnson, Miss Watson, Mr Fudge, Mrs Langley and Mrs Herczeg. They were there to rehearse all afternoon with the conductor and band, and with the dance group Urban Strides. It was wonderful to see the children in their Young Voices merchandise, showing off everything they had been learning in school for so many months. After rehearsing and a 'tea break', the parents and audience members arrived and the lights went down. Along with another 117 schools, the children performed this year's songs to the audience. They also took part in dances and beat-box battles with The Beatbox Collective. The children were amazing and once again, it was such an incredible atmosphere - made even more special as they had waited so long. The children and adults were so disappointed that Miss Allison was unwell on the day of the concert, after she had worked so hard with them in the after school club, but the children certainly did her proud! Well done to the Barnburgh Young Voices Choir!
