Wear purple for JIA day
On Friday 6th November, we celebrated our first house event of this year. The event was called ‘Wear Purple for JIA’. This was to raise money for a charity close to our hearts: JIA-at-NRAS. This is the Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA) branch of the charity National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society.
This is so special to us at Barnburgh Primary School as one of our younger pupils in school is an advocate for this charity. Heidi Willis, in Year 2, raised £884 last year and has raised a total of over £1700 since she started supporting the charity in 2017. Through her fundraising, she has received a special award at the Houses of Parliament.
This year, we all wore purple and donated a £1 to this special event. In total, we have raised £178.30 to go towards Heidi's fundraising efforts. Well done everybody - you have done a fantastic job!
