Healthy Eating Week 2020
BNF Healthy Eating Week - 28 September to 4 October 2020
This year’s BNF Healthy Eating Week will run from 28 September to 4 October 2020. The aim of the Week is to bring the UK together for a dedicated Week, focusing on key health messages and promoting healthy habits. This year’s health challenges are:
Nursery have enjoyed learning about Staying Healthy this week. We made our own fruit salad and found out about healthy foods. We also talked about other ways to stay healthy including exercise. We loved trying Go noodle for the first time!
Reception learned about healthy and unhealthy foods this week - we thought about the foods we need lots of and those which we should just have sometimes.
We enjoyed making funny fruit faces... yum, yum!
Key Stage One
In Year One, we looked at mindfulness painting using cotton buds using the pointillism technique, the children loved it! We also looked at different food groups and healthy foods and we made our very own healthy packed lunch! By the end of the lesson the children were able to say what foods were healthy, what they should have sometimes and food they should have as treats! We spoke about how everything should be balanced.
In Year One, we use Go Noodles to have brain breaks throughout the day! Today, we tried some of the dancing videos to join in with 'Move More Thursday'. The children loved it!

In Year 5, we had a look at the different themes for each day of the Healthy Eating Week. We spoke about what each one meant and heard some examples of what they could do to achieve each theme. They were then given the task of creating a poster which incorporated the 5 main themes for Monday to Friday.
