IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR GROWN-UPS
DO I QUALIFY FOR FREE SCHOOL MEALS?
In these challenging times there will be some parents whose income varies and may well pass the threshold for eligibility for their child to have free school meals. We want to ensure that those families receive the support they are entitled to. The link below is for DoncasterMetropolitan Borough Council (DMBC) free school meals.
Before you start you you will need:
- your own name and date of birth
- contact details
- national insurance number or national asylum seekers number
- child’s name and date of birth
- child’s school
You will be notified within 2 working days by DMBC if you are entitled to free school meals. Our school will be notified each week of any changes and will ensure you receive your electronic vouchers to be used in local stores.
If you have any issues completing the form please contact us on any of the emails provided and we will do our best to help.
HOW CAN I ACCESS LEARNING ACTIVITIES FOR MY CHILD?
There are lots of suggested learning activities on our website. This is not a definitive list. We are happy for you to pick and choose as you wish. In addition, the internet is full of suggested learning activities that you can do with your children. The key message is to try and do some reading, writing and maths every day and then enrich your day with some project work and physical activity. We Have provided all the children with diaries so they can keep a log of everything they are doing.
Over the coming weeks we will try to develop ways for children to share their work with their teachers. We will also develop our home learning pages to make them as exciting and as accessible as possible. To view our home learning pages go to our website. Go to CLASSES. Hover your mouse over CLASSES and you will see the option of HOME-LEARNING. If you click on this you will see the tasks that teachers have already set. Please please don’t put pressure on yourselves to complete everything unless you want to. You can learn just as much from playing board games, going for walks, reading stories together, singing songs etc. The older the children are, the more they should be able to access independently.
Teachers will be staying in touch with you over the coming weeks so please ask if you want more ideas or work. If you need to contact your child's class teacher or any other staff in school you will find their emails below.
