We recognise that children are not able to celebrate their birthdays in the normal way at the moment and every day we see some of our pupils feeling disappointed.
We think we can help!
We have offered our children an afternoon of birthday celebrations on the last Monday of every month so that children who have a birthday in a particular month can celebrate it with their friends.
Staff will lead party games and dancing and they will create safe opportunities to sing ‘happy birthday’. We might even be able to include a sweet treat for children to take home at the end of the celebration!
It won’t be a perfect replacement for the wonderful parties you are able to offer the children but we hope it will help to make a fun memory of their pandemic birthday year.
We will commit to doing this for the full academic year so no one misses out. Children who have birthdays in August will celebrate with the July birthdays and children who have already had a birthday in September and October will be able to celebrate with the November birthday children.
On this day all children will have permission to come to school wearing their party clothes. We hope this gives all the children something to look forward to.
