08/06/22 ENGAGE English - In preparation for our messy write, we learnt how to mummify a body using the technique described by the Ancient Egyptians. We did a little bit of research and then became hands on, wrapping the body in the same way. We will use this experience to write an explanation text of how to mummify a body.

08/06/22 Music - We learnt a song called 'Gift of the Nile'. We learnt how to sing together and how to sing in unison.

10/06/22 Building up the song.

09/06/22 PE - Dance: Year 5 learnt about body shapes and movements that could have been used in Ancient Egyptian times. We used a video of Ancient Egyptian dance moves to follow along to. This will provide inspiration for our own dance be the end of this topic.

12/06/22 MUSIC - we learnt that symbols can be represented in different ways. We all interpreted these images as different sounds. We made these sounds with our voices.

14/06/22 DEVELOP - History: We learnt about the Egyptian pharaohs. We had to use our research skills to find out what made these pharaohs so good. We held a competition (Egypt’s Got Talent) to see who the best pharaoh was.
