What will we be learning?
Year 5 Calculation Policy
Year 5/6 Spellings:
Here are the spellings that you will be focusing on, throughout Year 5 and Year 6.
Last year's Year 5's opinions of being in Year 5
The current Year 5's have been asked to send a message or a video, telling you all about what it is like to be in Year 5, or what their favourite thing has been.
Anais' thoughts on being in Year 5...
Rosa's thoughts on being in Year 5...
Other Information:
PE: The children will have a double session of PE every Friday so they are to come to school in their PE kit (as stated on the policy—no football shirts please).
ACCESS INTO SCHOOL: Sadly, we do not anticipate being in a position to be able to welcome parents into the school building in September. We have put safety precautions in place in our main reception for any parents needing to come to main reception. However, if you would like to speak to me, please access reception and make an appointment.
WHOLE SCHOOL EVENTS: There will be no whole school events for the Autumn term. This will mean there will be no whole school assemblies or express events. We are in the stages of exploring ways we can celebrate these events AND include parents and carers, by revisiting the virtual world that we have relied on so much over the past few weeks and months.
CLASSROOM CHANGES: In order to ease congestion outside the current year 3 and year 5 classroom, we have made the decision to move year 6 into our current year 3 classroom. This is round the back of the school just past the bike shed, so Year 5 and Year 6 are now on the same side of the building.
PERSONAL ITEMS: Children will be encouraged to bring minimal items into school. We will ask them to bring a labelled water bottle into school on the first day back. We request that this is left in school for us to clean and refill at the start of each day.
