Monday 12th April - Making Longboats. As part of our engage we built replicas of Anglo-Saxon longboats. We went into Walts Wood and to create physical longboats and also had ago at making models out of paper.

Tuesday 13th April - Designing Brooches. Today we started a Design and Technology project. We are going to be making brooches! We started by looking at what brooches were, what they were used for and what they were made from. We looked at lot of examples and their intricate designs then started designing our own brooches. We brainstormed some ideas before picking 2 final designs which we will use when we make our brooches in a few weeks.

Wednesday 14th April - Today we started making and  decorated axes that were used in Anglo-Saxon times. We learnt that they were used more a lot more than just cutting down trees! We are hoping to use them next week in our drama session with Ceri.

Friday 16th April - Today we looked at what food the Anglo-Saxons had available to them. Using these very basic ingredients we made honey, oat and spice cakes. Let's just say they had mixed reviews.

Tuesday 27th April - Today we followed our planned designs and made our brooches out of clay. We had to make sure we were accurate and precise so they look as realistic as possible.
