13/11/19 - Following on from watching the anti-bullying scenarios and voting for which path to take, we were given our own problems to respond to. We worked in teams to read the problems and decided what advice we would give to the victims, friends and even the bullies. Watch our advice videos below!

During this week, we have been learning about how change starts with us for anti-bullying week. We watched some videos with bullying scenarios in. At the end of each video, we had to decide what action to take. We decided on actions such as: speak to the victim, speak to the bully, tell an adult, give advice, etc. The children showed kindness and thoughtfulness when dealing with uncomfortable situations. We voted anonymously. They then gave great explanations about which path we should choose and debated this with each other to come to a joint decision.

Odd Socks Day - On Tuesday 12th November, we took part in odd socks day by wearing odd socks with our uniforms. We did this as part of anti-bullying week to raise awareness.

11/11/19 - During our RE Develop lesson, we used the masks we created last week in a drama piece to tell the story of Ganesh. We listened to the story and recreated the actions. We used our masks to symbolise the moment when Ganesh's head was replaced by an elephant's head.

Autumn Term 1 - Spanish Learning - During Autumn Term 1, we have been learning Spanish with Mrs Kilby. We played Splat to learn the numbers to 10. We made finger puppets to have simple conversations. We learnt how to say hello and goodbye, ask how someone is feeling and how to respond and asking someones name and responding.

05/11/19 - In preparation for Remembrance Day next week, the whole school have been set the challenge of making a poppy. We followed step-by-step instructions to cut, fasten. attach, connect and combine these materials to make our poppies. We will remember them!

04/11/19 - RE - Engage - For our Engage activity, to kick start our Hinduism learning, we made elephant masks out of paper plates. We created our own designs, coloured these, added accessories and then worked out how to attach them to our faces. Look out for these masks being used for some Drama next week.

04/11/19 - Performance Poetry. We performed a range of Haiku poems about Remembrance Day. We used our voices and actions to tell the story of the poems.

18/10/19 - Topic - Art work. We created owls for our topic of Predator! We created a background for our owls using pastels. We then cut out an owl shape from black paper. We used chalks to create patterns and markings on our owls to make them look more realistic.

10/10/19 - Some of the children in our class represented the school in the Year 3/4 Cross Country Competition at the Keepmoat Stadium. Well done to Ollie, Hughie, Poppy and Ateesha for taking part!

GOLDEN TIME: On 26/09/19, we celebrated 'golden time' for achieving 100% attendance the previous week. We chose to learn in Walt's Wood, play football and ride our bikes and scooters on the playground. We had lots of fun!

PE: On 25/09/19, we were set a challenge to work as a team to 'cross the river'. We were given a certain number of lily pads to safely cross the river. We had to watch out for predators. If we fell in the water, we had to return to the beginning. It took team work, perseverance and courage to complete the challenges.

DEVELOP: On 24/09/19, we dissected lilies to find out about the different parts of a plant. We cut these off carefully and named them. We found out about the jobs the different parts of the plant does. We then labelled these.

ENGAGE: On 19/09/19, we found out how fossils were formed and then made our own. We made a mould using Plasticine. We then selected a dinosaur model to press into the mould. We mixed Plaster of Paris and poured this into the mould. We left this overnight and it made our fossils!

MATHS: On 19/09/19, we used base 10 equipment to support us answering our Maths questions. We worked in pairs to make the numbers and check the calculations.

On 13/09/19, we used the laptops to explore the program Scratch. We used Scratch to make a predator chasing prey game. We set the instructions for the character to follow and checked that this worked.

ENGAGE: On 10/09/19, we found out more about predators by looking at food chains. We explored the vocabulary consumer, producer, predator and prey and categorised animals in the food chains.

ENGAGE: Birds of Prey Visitor - On 09/09/19, Sandra brought some birds of prey into school. We met four different birds: two owls, a falcon and a kestrel. We got to hold two of the birds and watch Tiffin fly around the hall. He wouldn't come back! We loved our engage activity for our topic: Predator!
