4.4.2020 - 19.4.2020 - Easter Holidays!

Once this week of home learning is over on Friday, for 2 weeks, it is then your Easter holiday.

I am sure it will feel very strange for most of us and won't be like the Easter holidays we are used to, but I want you to make the most of it and have the best time you can. Enjoy a break from the home learning and fill your time with family activities and maybe Easter themed activities.

Remember to keep in touch with me over email and I would love to hear all about your Easter holidays and see pictures of what you have been doing.
Happy Easter Year 2!

Topic Home Learning

Choose from the home learning menu below. We will be looking at this topic during the Summer Term

We have learnt lots of skills throughout our topic to lead to our innovate week. Innovate allows the children to

  • Apply skills, knowledge and understanding to real life and imaginary contexts
  • Show enterprise in solving problems and resolving situations
  • Use their thinking skills to explore possibilities
  • Build on their self-esteem and confidence
  • Reflect upon and identify their own needs, skills and understanding
  • Work in pairs, groups, as a whole class and independently
  • Take on different roles and responsibilities.

It would be great to see examples of innovate activities completed at home!

An example of what could be built is attached below.

Maths Scheme of Learning

White Rose Maths - White Rose is the Maths scheme which we follow in school when planning our daily maths lessons. For the purpose of school closures, White Rose have set up a Home Learning page which parents/carers can access for work for their children.

The Maths work which is on there is in line with what the children would now be learning, if they were attending school. We believe that this will continue to be updated as time goes on, for as long as necessary.

This is a brilliant Maths resource to keep the children on track and up to date with their maths learning for their Year group.

Adverts

Our next writing is to write an advert about a visit to a castle.

The advert must include a rhetorical question, things that will wow visitors, facilities and activities which are there and a catchy slogan.  The children could use this as an opportunity to look at different Castle's websites such as Conisbrough Castle and Linclon Castle.

As part of their home learning, the children can plan and write their narrative. I have included some documents  below which will help you to plan and write your adverts - make sure you e-mail a picture of your completed advert -  I can't wait to see them!
