The following home learning tasks are available for Phonics. Click on the links to go to the websites:

ICT Games: Can be used on computers and soon to be made available on tablets/ipads.

Teach Your Monster to Read: Website is free, just register! You can download the app on phones, tablets
and ipads (costs around £4.99, the app has been free recently so keep an eye on it!).

Phonics Play: From Obb and Bob to the pirates practise reading real and nonsense words.

Phonics resources:

Free Ebooks: These are similar to what your child will access in class and bring home.

Daily Phonics Videos

Every day, you can watch a live phonics session: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCo7fbLgY2oA_cFCIg9GdxtQ/videos

Red Words: These are often words you can't sound out and you just have to know. The children should be able to read these on sight and write them too.

White Words (challenge words). In Phonics, I encourage the children to read these words in their head. I give them 20 seconds to read in their head then they tell me the word. I then model the reading again and we spot the 'special friends' in the words such as 'oi' or 'ai' etc.
