Transition dates for SEPTEMBER 2020
We will visit you at home in your garden on one of the following dates (dates have been share by phone call or email)
Thursday 3rd, Monday 7th or Tuesday 8th of September. You have been given an allocated time slot as we have lots to fit in.
STAY AND PLAY VISIT
Your children will be able to come for an allocated time to stay and play. Unfortunately due to the current guidelines around COVID-19 we cannot invite parents into school. We will ask that you drop your child off and then return to collect them.
The dates are:
Wednesday 9th and Thursday the 10th. Your child has been invited to come between 9-9.45 OR 10-10.45. This will allow a quieter first experience/ play in Nursery and minimise the amount of adults bring and taking children.
Your child will start on one of two dates. This will ensure a smoother and calmer first experience for them entering school.
We cannot wait to meet your children and welcome them into our Foundation stage unit!
What Will We Be Learning?
Please see below our long term plan for 2020-2021.
Our first topic in September will be PEOPLE THAT HELP US. This is a favourite topic of ours. We will enjoy talking about our families and learn about the different people in our community and beyond that help us for example, Doctors, fire fighters, shop workers, dentists and lots more.
What kind of learning/ things might my child be doing?
Please see the photos below and have a look at our current class page for lots more photos.
Exploring mark making plays a key role in Early years. It can be lots of fun!!
PSED is a key focus in September.
Helping children to make friends, take turns and settle into Nursery.
Your child will need to bring indoor shoes which can remain in school. This will help to keep our inside space clean.
Your children will need a LABELLED water bottle for when they need a drink. We will remind and encourage children to drink water!
If your child is likely to have the odd accident you may wish to send a small, labelled bag with a few spare clothes in. This will remain in school unless it needs washing. This will minimise the amount of belongings coming into and out of school.
SUITABLE OUTDOOR CLOTHING
The children will have access to outdoor at all times. As the weather changes to being colder and wetter it is helpful if children come to Nursery in suitable outer wear and bring wellies that can remain in school. Please try to avoid sending them in their best coats/ wellies etc as we like to have lots of FUN and we can get messy!!
