Phonics- Listening walk

Nursery enjoyed looking around the rest of school this week. As part of our phonics learning we went on an environmental listening walk. We heard the phone ringing, chairs scraping, children talking, food being cooked in the dinner hall...we were very excited to be out of our Foundation Stage unit!

Celebrating Harvest Festival

This week we have been learning about Harvest Festival. We learnt about safety when chopping vegetables and good hygiene.

W/C 27.9.21

This week Nursery have enjoyed learning about keeping their  teeth healthy. We have watched little videos about visiting the Denists and how to clean our teeth properly. We enjoyed tooth brushes and lollipop sticks to clean gloop of the teeth. We talked about good oral health and also about how the gloop changes from a liquid to solid.

In phonics we have been singing Harvest song, practising body percussion and we went on a listening walk around school.

In Maths we have been counting carefully and singing number songs.

W/C 20.9.21

Nursery have been rescuing the Peppa pig characters from the beach try. They practised touch counting very carefully.

We have also enjoyed taking part in Cosmic yoga...this help us to be calm and relax.

In phonics we have enjoyed making body percussion. This is when we make sounds with our body parts e.g clicking our fingers, clapping our hands, stamping our feet, clicking our tongue.

W/C 13.9.21

This week the children enjoyed making marks in shaving foam. The made marks using their fingers, felt it in their fingers and on their hands. It was lots of fun.

The children also enjoyed accessing the provision where they explored the different areas. The adults supported children with sharing, turn taking, solving problems, modelling language and play.

W/c: 6.9.21

We have had a very busy week settling our new children into school and welcoming back our children that were with us before the Summer.

We have been trying hard to make the children feel happy and comfortable in their new environment. We have been learning to tidy away after ourselves and getting use to our routine.
