Our RE Leader Mrs St. Clair helps us to learn about Ramadan ..."Ramadan is a period of fasting. Muslims fast because they believe God asks them to. The time is significant as this is when they believe God revealed the first Quran to the Prophet Mohammed. Deliberately not eating or drinking can help manage cravings and desires, in order to practice self-control. Muslims also think about those who don’t have enough food every day, in order to develop empathy with the needy. Finally, fasting offers a sense of community and togetherness. All over the world, Muslims fast in the daytime during Ramadan and break their fast at sunset."
