Summer 2 Newsletter
Dear Parents/Carers,
Wow! We are in the final half term of this year! How quickly the time seems to have gone. This half term is a very busy one with sports days, our school trip , the express event and transition week.
I am excited to see all the RE challenge home learning that has been completed over the break!
Dates for your diary
Year 3 School Trip to Danelaw Monday 17th June
Express Event Wednesday 26th June AM
Sports Day Thursday 4th July
Transition Week Monday 8th July
This half term we will complete our learning around the topic Tribal Tales, we are moving a little further along the historical timeline and learning about the Bronze and Iron Ages.
Well done to the lucky winner of the Term 5 Reading challenge, James, who picked a fantastic new book to take home. In the run up to Summer it would be nice to see children taking responsibility for filling in their reading records, but this needs your support in order to get them into a good routine.
In Maths this half term we continue building on our understanding of Time and then finish the term off by exploring capacity and mass. The Key Instant Recall facts for this term are facts based on the 8 times table. Please remember to support your children in accessing times tables rock stars in order to practice their instant recall.
In English, we will be writing adventure narratives based on our learning of the Stone Age and focusing on using target grammar and ambitious vocabulary to engage our readers.
As during the previous term, PE is on Mondays. Please make sure that children bring their kit on Monday and take it home at the weekend. As well as this we will be continuing the Daily Mile every afternoon.
