Parental Engagement

Working in partnership with parents is central to the Early Years Foundation Stage.  Regularly discussing your child’s learning and achievements from in and out of school will enable us to have a much broader picture of your child’s development.

There are many ways in which we can share information...

  • you can speak with your child's Key Person or the class teacher,
  • you can share observations on 2Simple,
  • you can complete a 'Proud Moment' slip and
  • we will regularly share with you your child's learning journey and share with you their next steps in learning and development.

Read With Me

We would like to invite parents/carers into class to read with their child each Friday morning until 8.40am.  It would be lovely if you’re able to join us.  You can find some photos of Read With Me sessions in the gallery below.

P.E.

Reception have P.E. each Wednesday morning and will need full P.E. kit (black shorts, white t-shirt and pumps/trainers).

Home Learning

Children will be given two reading books to read at home each week.  In Foundation Stage, we encourage parents/carers to read with their child every day, even just for 5-10 minutes.

Children will also be given topic challenges to complete with you at home.

Read With Me
Our wonderful children enjoy sharing a book with their parents/carers on Friday mornings...

Firefighter Visit - 24.09.18

We were very lucky to have Firefighter Taylor, from 'Blue Watch,' visit our class to enhance our topic of People Who Help Us.

We have learned lots of interesting information about the role of a firefighter and about the uniform they wear to keep themselves safe.

The children were very excited that they were able to wear a real helmet!

Thank you very much, Firefighter Taylor!

Maths Stay and Play 25.09.18

Reception enjoyed a maths-themed stay and play session, where they had a variety of maths activities to engage in. Our children practised skills they have learned, developed their thinking skills and solved lots of problems.

Thank you to the parents/carers who joined us.

All About Harvest  w/c 24.09.18

This week we have been learning all about Harvest. We have been doing lots of exploring!

Mmm... Freshly Baked Bread!  01.10.18

We have made bread today as part of our Harvest learning and linked to our key text this week in Literacy, The Little Red Hen.

It was delicious!

Bedtime Reading Event - 18.10.18
